FAQs

What is Surprizle?

Part puzzle, part gift, part surprise, Suprizle is a patent-pending process for gamified digital gifting (GDG) which involves hiding a prize or gift inside some sort of puzzle which must be solved in order to unlock the gift.

How does the Surprizle process work?

There are two components. First, you personalize a small puzzle, attaching a digital gift (one of your own or one of our gift cards). After sending the gift, the recipient opens the puzzle, choosing to solve or to take the Easy Way Out. Once the puzzle is successfully unlocked, the gift is delivered for download.

Is it safe?

Our files are encrypted throughout the assembly and delivery process. And all files are purged periodically from our databases. However, if you are ever in doubt as to the identity of the person sending you a gift, please make the time to verify their identity before attempting to solve their puzzle.

How does the arrival of a gift or challenge show up in my email or text messages?

In email: the recipient receives a message with the name of the sender in the subject line. If you doubt the identity of the sender, take a moment to verify.

As a text message: the recipient receives a text message with the name of the sender and a link to the puzzle.

What exactly is The Easy Way Out (EWO)?

The EWO allows the recipient to bypass the game entirely to claim the prize. However, the sender can choose to turn off this feature, requiring the recipient to complete the game to unlock the prize.

Why can’t I take the EWO on a Surprizle I just received? It looks like the option has been disabled.

The puzzle’s designer, the person who sent you a gift, has the option to turn off the EWO, requiring the recipient to complete the puzzle in order to receive the gift. If the EWO is disabled, then this is because the person sending the gift really wants you to complete the puzzle first.

Messages are not showing up in my inbox. I’m finding them in my junk or spam folder. How can I stop this from happening?

You can add an exception to your email protocols which will enable Surprizle deliveries. If you don’t know how to do this, check your email provider’s FAQ section for assistance.

I didn’t receive the Surprizle someone said they sent to me. What do I do?

The most frequent reason for this: the sender misspelled / mistyped an email or a phone number when designing the puzzle. The Surprizle may have been delivered to the wrong address.

Second most frequent reason: security protocols – from your internet service provider or web browser or email provider (or third party security software) – are blocking access. These settings can be adjusted – or you can add an exception to your security protocols to permit delivery of the message.

Short term solution until your security protocols can be adjusted: each Surprizle that is sent is also copied to the sender. Contact the sender to have them forward the puzzle link to you via text or email.

Why can’t I attach certain files?

Somewhat related to the above security questions…there are certain files that can install malicious software on your computer when you open them. We block those files in every instance that we detect them.
